Our colleague Athira was sexually harassed 2 days back on July, 2023 while returning from a protest in Bangalore. The rider was a driver on Rapido app and misbehaved with her.

Athira was shocked and shaken but did not deter her from going public about what happened to her. She took this to social media, and talked about how unsafe the ride sharing apps for women riders.
She received a lot of support from all parts of India, and social media gave her a huge support!
She went ahead and filed a case and now she is seeking a legal case against the accused and the private ride sharing app ( Rapido) for ensuring this never happens to anyone else.
We are with her, and we need your support!
Join our campaign, and seeking Athira justice, let us make our cities safe, let private companies realise they are responsible for safety for women riders.
We need answers for these questions:
- What is Rapido App doing to ensure that it is safe for women to ride on their bikes?
- Why are our cities unsafe for women?
- What all can a state provide for women’s safety?
We will keep a tab of the number of days, until we find some solution to make our cities safer, and this incident should not happen ever again.
